Green Collage Mug | Greig Pottery
She's a craftsperson, designer, businesswoman and teacher, and over the years Gagetown potter, Flo Greig has made an indelible mark on crafts in New Brunswick.
Greig's career in fine arts began in 1965, when she studied painting and drawing under Irma Ferguson in Sydney, N.S. Four years later she left her native Cape Breton to study ceramics at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. Shortly after graduation she moved to Fredericton and worked in art education in the District 26 school system.
In 1976 she moved to Gagetown to pursue her career as a potter, designer and artist. The name Greig Pottery has become synonymous with the kind of quality crafts fit for royalty. It was a piece of Flo Greig's work which was presented to Charles and Diana, Prince and Princess of Wales, by the town of Dalhousie during their visit to New Brunswick in 1983.
