In order to acheive a rich dark brown colourin naturally light toned woods, like maple, the wood is kiln dried twice, roasting th wood and causing it to darken.

Each spoon created by PEI Wooden Spoon Co. is hand crafted by Dennis Duermeier in his Summerside, PEI woodshop. The maple used in these spoons is repurposed off cuts from a local guitar luthier.
