Jacqueline Halsey- Jacqueline Halsey lives in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In her books, she retells historical events through the eyes of children. When not writing, she spends her time teaching English to newcomers and helping take care of McNabs Island, a place overflowing with history.
Eric Orchard- Eric Orchard is the illustrator of several books, including The Terrible, Horrible, Smelly Pirate. He won the Halifax Mayor's Award for Book Illustration and his work has been included in the Society of Illustrator's Annual competition and exhibition. Eric lives in Toronto.
